New Improved Grapheme Decks
Our Grapheme Decks are now $5 less and come in a new, more convenient size, sold as two separate decks bundled together!
A Grapheme Deck, also known as a Visual Review Deck, is a set of flashcards designed for use by educators trained in the Orton-Gillingham method to teach children with learning difficulties. Each card in the deck features a grapheme, or a unit of written language representing a single sound, along with an accompanying sticker from our Grapheme Sticker Book to reinforce the sound-symbol correspondence. The deck is designed to be used in a structured, systematic manner to help students develop strong phonemic awareness and decoding skills, which are essential for reading success. The Grapheme Deck is a powerful tool for helping struggling readers build confidence and proficiency in reading and writing.
Part One: This set features grapheme, rule, and syllable cards designed to teach basic sound/symbol associations. It includes single-letter correspondences, consonant blends and clusters, basic consonant digraphs, split vowel digraphs (vowel-con-e), the zfsl Rule, the 1-1-1 Doubling Rule, and cards for Closed, Vowel-con-e, and Open Syllable cards.
Part Two: The cards in this deck include grapheme, rule, and syllable concepts to support ongoing instruction of sound and symbol relationships. This deck includes vowel digraphs, r-controlled vowels, consonant-le patterns, and more advanced graphemes. It also contains higher-level rule cards such as Final e, Final y, con-le, Doubling, and 2-1-1, along with advanced syllables like Vowel Team, r-Controlled, and con-le.
