About Reach North Vancouver
The North Vancouver Reach Learning Centre - also serving as our Head Office - offers expert student services, including one-on-one Orton-Gillingham lessons and summer programming tailored for learners with dyslexia and other language‑based learning differences. With structured literacy intervention delivered in a warm, professional environment, students receive multisensory, evidence-based instruction that builds reading, writing, and spelling skills.
Val Ross, M.Sc. - Director of Student Services, North Van
Over the past 30 years, Val has worked in various roles, supporting and educating children and families. Previously, she was a health region child care consultant, not-for-profit administrator, parenting coach, and workshop facilitator. Ms. Ross was also a literacy interventionist for the North Vancouver School District. She has a Master of Science degree in Family Relations and Child Development, and is a certified Orton-Gillingham Practitioner in both literacy and math. Val lives and plays on the North Shore. She is a mom of two awesome adult children and an avid tennis player.
